Security

Security and privacy is our first consideration. When you input API keys into Velo, they're stored locally on your device, encrypted and locked via the password you set. From there, keys and information are used only in requests directly to the exchange - nothing touches other servers.

First time users can always make a new Bybit subaccount (testnet or live) to try out Velo Trading.

You can generate keys like so:

  • Create new key: System-generated API keys

  • Name the key anything

  • Select Read-Write, No IP restriction, and Orders + Positions + USDC Derivatives Trading + Trade

You may use IP restriction if you know your IP and do not expect it to change, but note most residential and VPN IPs change often.

The setup should look like this:

If you remove these keys from your browser and do not have them saved elsewhere, you'll need to make a new pair. You'll also need to reenter the pair any time you're on a new browser or device. For security, pairs automatically expire every 90 days.

Once complete you'll see an API Key and API Secret to paste into Velo - set a password, click Connect and you're ready to trade.
